Your best defense against burnout is a well written Brand Promise. It should drive all creative - from ad copy to in-bound TM scripts to Shopping Cart blurbs. You'll need more than a list of feature-benefit bullet-points, though.

Peter A. Burkhard presents an inductive method called Logical Analysis Leading to a Leap of Faith.  It's a way to focus your thinking, energy, and money on something more likely to work than whatever The Other Guys are doing.  It suggests to craft one single sentence stating:

Who Do You Want? What Do They Want? Why Are You Different? So What?
Yeah, but... Why Not? What are the Other Guys Doing? Who's Counting What?
